Planetary Objectives is a small team of independent researchers seeking to engage with the reader about of contemporary problems like Environmental Protection, Access to Medicine and Health Care, Freedom of Speech and Digital Rights, Economic Development and other issues that of general discourse. It is aimed at sensitizing people on law and policy aspects of global problems and entering into dialogue with like-minded people.

Dr. Anwar Sadat (M.Phil., Ph.D. from JNU) specializes in International Environmental Law and he has been teaching International Environmental Law at the Indian Society of International Law (ISIL) since 2009. He has been consistently contributing to leading academic journals (Economic and Political Weekly, Indian Journal of International Law, Journal of Indian Law Institute) for the last twelve years. He has authored a book titled Trusts for the Earth: Issues relating to Financing Global Environmental Problems. Over the last five years, he has distinguished himself as an outstanding expert on climate law and policy. He is one of the few scholars who has shown deep familiarity with the emissions trading as a policy tool in the context of India.

Rohit Kumar (Bsc Life Science, LLB University of Delhi):Rohit is BSc Life Sciences and Law graduate from Delhi University. Rohit has extensive litigation experience representing clients before the Supreme Court of India and various other judicial forums. He worked in the in-house teams of Google, Bytedance and Snapchat. Rohit concentrates his practice on laws related to emerging technologies, healthcare, litigation and regulatory. He is a member of the Young Practitioner group of MCIA, SIAC, and AIAC. His main area of work has been concentrated on Environmental Law and policy of India, Constitutional Law, Access to Medicine and Politics. He practices mainly in the Supreme Court of India and for the last many years he has been critically analyzing the various aspects in Environmental Law and the Policy of India. He has been influenced by Rachel Carson’s “Silent Spring” and the Chipko Andolan. He is presently focusing on the political discourse in the area of Climate Change and the loss of biodiversity. He is an avid coffee lover and a great fan of the TinTin.

Dipika Jain: Dipika is a Law and Political Science graduate from the University of Delhi. She is a lawyer practising in the Supreme Court of India. Through her blog,Know the law, she is attempting to spread legal awareness among the people. She is an environment enthusiast and has volunteered with an NGO “Go Get Garbage” which works for solid waste management. She strongly believes that conserving the environment is the only hope for our planet. She is steadily moving on to the path of sustainable living and preaches the same.

Parvathi Preethan: An environmental economist from the London School of Economics, working in the field of climate change and resilience at the World Resources Institute (WRI India).

Bhavya Katyal (B.A(H) Mass Media and Mass Communication, M.A Media Governance) is a researcher with a major in communications and has taught courses in graphic design and advertising as a lecturer. Currently pursuing her MPhil from TISS, Mumbai, her work focuses on student movements and response to climate action in India. Noticing her own unhealthy living patterns, she now tries to live sustainably and aims to reduce personal and societal environmental impact by making positive changes in her own lifestyle which counteract climate change. In her free time, she reads and bakes.
